IBM introduces five new POWER7® processor-based systems for large enterprises and midsize companies. The new POWER7 systems run AIX®, IBM i and Linux® solutions and are designed for both transaction processing and throughput computing workloads like business analytics.

- IBM Power 795: The most powerful UNIX® system ever with extraordinary scalability and configuration flexibility.
- IBM Power 710, 720, 730 and 740 Express: The lowest priced POWER7 energy efficient systems for midsize businesses.
- IBM i Solution Editions for the core business needs of midsize clients, featuring software from Infor, Lawson, Oracle JD Edwards and SAP.
- IBM i Edition Express for BladeCenter S: Integrates IBM i and Windows blades in the same chassis for consolidation of web, database and application workloads.
Power is the future of UNIX (US)
AIX 7 is the only UNIX operating system designed to scale in support of today's massive transaction and throughput computing workloads – with up to 1024 threads on POWER7. It includes new virtualization capabilities designed to simplify the consolidation of older, AIX V5.2 applications as well as built-in clustering capability that provides a scalable clustering infrastructure foundation for PowerHA SystemMirror resiliency solutions. AIX 7 is guaranteed to be binary compatible with AIX 6, AIX 5L™ and even earlier versions of AIX, and is available in Standard, Enterprise and Express Editions. Early access for testing is now available via the AIX 7 Open Beta program.

- PowerHA SystemMirror 7.1 Standard Edition is designed for datacenter high availability clusters and is now fully integrated with the built in clustering capability of AIX 7
- PowerHA SystemMirror 6.1 Enterprise Edition is packaged for multi-site clusters and now supports IBM DS8000 Global Mirror and Hitachi Truecopy storage clusters
