Elevate Linux server applications to new levels

IBM PowerLinux® - Elevate Linux server applications to new levels.

For a limited time, invest in specially-priced POWER7+-based systems running either Red Hat or SUSE Linux.

Linux is increasingly becoming the operating system of choice for large and small organisations worldwide for deploying flexible, secure and cost-effective new applications.

Moving business critical solutions to Linux can result in the challenge of how to gain advantage with the same quality of service and robustness available through established and mature operating systems such as AIX and IBM i. PowerLinux addresses this challenge by leveraging the self-healing and self-managing capabilities of IBM Power Systems through Linux, giving you the confidence to run highly scalable, highly reliable, and highly flexible Linux environments on POWER-based servers.

IBM PowerLinux servers using POWER7+® chip technology run industry-standard Linux from Red Hat or SUSE. With this combination, Linux is able to exploit the advanced hardware and virtualisation capabilities of Power Systems allowing faster delivery of services with higher quality, flexibility and superior economics when compared with commodity x86 servers running Microsoft Windows or Linux. With PowerLinux, you do not have to settle for "good enough" computing. If you are considering x86 systems, take a serious look at PowerLinux.

For a limited time, invest in specially-priced POWER7+-based systems running either Red Hat or SUSE Linux configurations listed in the Ordering Information section of this page. These can be used as the basis for deploying analytics, industry applications (e.g. ERP systems) or open source infrastructure services including web, email and social media applications.
