Abstract: Significant performance benefits, and corresponding reductions in the cost to do data processing, can be experienced by increasing DB2 buffer pool sizes. This was clearly demonstrated in recent internal System z measurements in which DB2 buffer pools and associated memory were scaled at generally high CPU utilization. This white paper documents the findings from those measurements and has been updated with information specific to the IBM z13 processor.
