Abstract: OMEGAMON XE on z/VM and Linux makes use of the Performance Toolkit (PTK) as its data collector. Connectivity between OMEGAMON XE on z/VM and Linux and PTK is accomplished by using a DCSS whose default name is PERFOUT. Both PTK’s CMS virtual machine (PERFSVM) and the Linux virtual machine containing OMEGAMON XE on z/VM and Linux must address the PERFOUT DCSS without overlapping their
memory areas with the memory area of PERFOUT. It is possible to prevent overlapping these memory areas by defining PERFOUT above the address range of both PERFSVM and the Linux virtual machine or by creating a gap in the memory of the Linux virtual machine. This paper documents the steps to locating and addressing the PERFOUT DCSS. Detailed examples and steps are provided to aid in this portion of the installation of OMEGAMON XE on z/VM and Linux.
