Abstract: This paper describes new features and enhancements in IBM POWER7+ processor technology and how these features and enhancements benefit SAS Business Analytics workloads. This paper describes the testing that was performed with SAS Business Analytics on a POWER7+ processor-based Power 770 system server running IBM AIX 7.1 operating system with IBM XIV Storage System Gen3 as the backend storage area network (SAN) storage. This paper also describes the performance improvements seen by SAS Business Analytics workloads on POWER7+ processor-based servers as compared to the previous generation IBM Power Systems (that is, IBM POWER7).
