Abstract: This Technical Note focuses on findings observed during Oracle database test runs with the latest generation of IBM POWER7+ DCM servers. The guidance it provides will assist customers to optimize the performance of Oracle database with some workloads. The recommendations and suggestions are derived from the observations made in performance tests on an IBM Power 760 server. The same conclusions may be applicable to an IBM Power 740 DCM server.
