Abstract: In a virtualized environment, the combination of Microsoft® Dynamics® CRM software, Microsoft Windows Server® 2012 with Hyper-V™, IBM® System x3650 M4 servers and IBM Storwize V7000™ can deliver outstanding performance and virtualization reliability, along with the cost advantages of virtualization and multi-tenancy.
The purpose of this reference configuration is to provide guidance on how an implementation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 will perform in a Hyper-V failover configuration for an estimated 1,000 users. Unexpected downtime can seriously impact productivity and clients, making high availability critically important at the application, server and storage levels. Hyper-V on Windows Server 2012 provides live migration of virtual machines. Clustered servers have simultaneous access to storage volumes, providing increased up time with highly available virtual machines that can failover or move without downtime.
