Abstract: In this white paper, you can look at the IBM POWER7 Active Memory Expansion (AME) feature and its effectiveness in reducing the requirement of physical memory with SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15.7. This paper provides a basic overview of the AME feature and its use and presents the details and results of various test scenarios of using AME with SAP Sybase ASE. The paper also provides details pertaining to the configuration, workload, and recommendations for each of the test scenarios and the resulting best practices for implementing IBM Active Memory Expansion with SAP Sybase ASE.
