Abstract: This solution utilizes Exchange 2010 Mailbox Resiliency with Database Availability Groups (DAGs). The design includes 2 DAGs, with 4 servers per group. Each database copy resides on separate IBM DCS3700 storage systems, DCS3700 Expansion Units, spindles, and servers for redundancy and failover.
The production-based design includes 2 IBM System Storage DCS3700 disk systems with DCS3700 Expansion Units and 8 servers. The active and high-availability copies are distributed across all servers in the group, with 5 active databases and 5 database copies per server. Each server is hosting 5,000 active mailboxes, allowing room for failover of other servers or databases.
