Abstract: IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS) is a high-performance, shared-disk file system that can provide data access from nodes configured in a cluster environment. Both parallel and serial applications can access network-shared files. These files can be accessed concurrently from multiple nodes. GPFS is designed to provide high availability and can be configured for failover in the event of disk or server malfunctions. This document describes how to install and configure the IBM GPFS v3.4 on the Microsoft® Windows® Server 2008 R2 environment with emphasis on integration with a Microsoft Windows® HPC Server 2008 R2 cluster.
