Abstract: This best practices paper describes how to leverage IBM PowerVM Live Partition Mobility and IBM Open HyperSwap to move running applications between two sites without downtime to prepare system maintenance work. Open HyperSwap is a high-availability solution that leverages the IBM System Storage® DS8000® Metro Mirror feature. It is part of the IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center for Replication (TPC-R) product family. Live Partition Mobility (LPM) allows customers to seamlessly move running partitions from one IBM POWER6 or IBM POWER7 processor-based server to another.
