Abstract: The IBM z Systems cryptographic hardware provides a rich array of encryption capabilities. The functionality available depends on the specific platform and the hardware that has been installed. This document begins with a brief introduction of crypto functions and issues common to all the platforms, and then provides a synopsis of the z Systems crypto hardware, including the IBM z13 GA2 and IBM z13s announcement letter (116-002) February 16, 2016.
