Abstract: SNA networking hardware technologies and equipment are being withdrawn from both IBM and other vendors that have offered such technologies in the past (IBM 3745, IBM 3746, Token-ring, Cisco CIP, etc.). The IBM 3745 and 3746 were withdrawn from Marketing in 2002 IBM has no current plans to end service for these products before 2010.. The new IBM System z9 support does not include any Token-ring OSAs. Two possible migration paths from 37xx NCP-based functions are CCL and EE. This document is meant to aid in understanding the capabilities of CCL and EE and the differences between them.
