Abstract: This paper documents the technical experience of upgrading to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.9 non-Unicode on a System i platform, followed by upgrading the database from non-Unicode to Unicode. The results include timing the process of the two upgrades as well as tracking the changes in the size of the database. Helpful tips discovered along the way are also reported as well as some resource planning guidelines.
