WebSphere Application Server for z/OS

Abstract: WebSphere Application Server for z/OS V6.0.2 has the capability to define a Generic Server which can be controlled (e.g., started and stopped) through the admin console. This generic server can be a z/OS started task.

The intent of this paper is to document how you can easily install and configure the Cloudscape (or Derby) Network Server as a z/OS started task using the JZOS java launcher and then define a Generic Server in WebSphere representing this started task, which can be managed through the admin console.
