Abstract: There still exists some confusion with respect to CPACF (feature code 3863) on z990 servers. This paper provides a different perspective on explaining the differences between secure key and clear key as well as pointing out that CPACF alone does not replace the z900 CCF Crypto processors. CPACF is new function. A PCIxCC adapter is required to replace the CCF and/or PCICC functions.
