Session 2842: Advanced I/O Configuration Topics (Part 1 of 2)

(Back to "SHARE Winter 2009")

Abstract: This is part one of a two-part session. The speaker will discuss complex I/O configuration topics like CTCs, coupling links, and peer mode; which experience has shown tend to be difficult to understand. The content is based on customer support requests to the Advanced Technical Support group at the Washington Systems Center. He will use examples that will illustrate the use of both Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD) and Hardware Configuration Manager (HCM) to define the various complex configurations that may be encountered. The speaker will discuss Best Practices Recommendations and some tricks of the trade approaches that can be used to circumvent issues that may be encountered when defining configurations that may be outside of the norm.
