Product(s) covered:

z/OS

Abstract: With every new release of z/OS you do your best just to upgrade your systems to the latest level of code.
• But perhaps you should also take an overall look at your TCP/IP configuration to determine if you are still following Best Practices for configuration and tuning and whether you should be exploiting new features.
• This can be a massive undertaking, or you can simplify it with a quick start that requires analysis of just a few pages of output from command displays. No tracing or dump analysis is necessary! • This brief session provides you with basic tips on how to determine if your TCP/IP is well-behaving or not and whether you may have to go in for more "lab tests.“

NOTE: This is a presentation delivered at SHARE in February of 2013. It describes what a health check is, the various types of health checks, the types of command output that can reveal tuning and migration issues, and provides a sample of such a health check.
