Abstract: For DB2 data sharing users, this technical presentation describes how to automatically tune DB2 Group Buffer Pools (GBP) using ALLOWAUTOALT on CFRM STRUCTURE statement. It provides a more precise directory to data ratio than manual tuning for GBPs. It can provide pro-active tuning capability. A description of the function and possible anomalies is provided, as well as a real life experience. In addition hints and tips on DB2 structure sizing are provided.
