Note: If your currently installed zPCR version is older than C9.0, it MUST be uninstalled prior to installing zPCR C9.1b (package includes Java). This is necessary to facilitate conversion to the new IBM Java v8 64-bit runtime environment that is required for zPCR.

Use of Capacity Estimates from zPCR

zPCR estimates have a degree of error of +/- 5%. Customers using zPCR information are solely responsible for building capacity plans using zPCR results which accommodate the degree of error inherent in the tool.

The IBM System z10 EC has 5 models. The models support different number of processor units (PU) which are configurable as General Purpose CPs, zAAPs, zIIPs, IFLs, ICF's, or optional SAPs.
System z10 EC Models E12 - Supports 1 to 12 Configurable PUs
E26 - Supports 1 to 26 Configurable PUs
E40 - Supports 1 to 40 Configurable PUs
E56 - Supports 1 to 56 Configurable PUs
E64 - Supports 1 to 64 Configurable PUs
In addition, for General Purpose CPs, there are 4 engine speeds, listed below in increasing speed sequence. All zAAPs, zIIPs, IFLs, and ICFs are full speed CPs.
