Abstract: This is the Getting Started page for those interested in using IBM's Processor Capacity Reference (zPCR) to capacity plan for IBM z Systems and LinuxONE processors. It includes links for accessing related educational materials and downloading the tool itself.

If the tabs of this notebook don't work for you, try this version of the document.

Note-1: If your currently installed zPCR version is older than C8.5, it MUST be uninstalled prior to installing zPCR C8.8a (package that includes Java).

This is necessary to facilitate conversion to the new IBM Java V7 runtime environment that is required for zPCR.

Note-2: Should installation of zPCR C8.8a fail to complete, you should uninstall your current zPCR version, and then install the C8.8a package that includes Java.

zPCR - Processor Capacity Reference for IBM z Systems

zPCR is a PC-based productivity tool under Windows. It is designed to provide capacity planning insight for IBM z Systems and LinuxONE processors running LPAR configurations with various workload environments under z/OS, z/VM, z/VSE, KVM, Linux, zAware, zACI, and CFCC. Capacity results are based on IBM's LSPR data supporting all IBM z Systems and LinuxONE processors including the new z13s and z13 processor families.
