Abstract: SYSTEM i TAPE PERFORMANCE BENCHMARK CHART

This document contains a 2 charts that summarize the various performance benchmarks for System i tape. The 1st chart shows the SAVE benchmarks, and the 2nd chart shows the RESTORE benchmarks.

These charts need to be printed on legal-sized paper. Consider omitting the right-most column from your printout, which will make the text big enough for you to read easily.

This file is provided in Lotus 1-2-3 and Excel format to allow editing: for example, some reps will highlight the pertinent rows showing the benchmarks for the customer’s existing tape drive and the proposed tape drive, prior to sending the document to a customer.

The data is taken from the System i Performance Capabilities Reference Manual (PCRM) which can be found at the following url:

http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/perfmgmt/resource.html

The Sept 2007 version of this document includes the data through the end of the July 2007 Performance Capabilities Reference Manual (PCRM)

Please review the 2 additional worksheet tabs marked “Notes” and “Low End Drives” for additional information related to the main charts.

For comments, corrections or questions, please contact Nancy Roper at nroper@ca.ibm.com
