FAQ: How does one turn off the 'out of compliance' message when one iOS has been purchased for a 2-way 8203?

Answer to this FAQ:

According to Allyn G Walsh/Rochester/IBM@IBMUS, Sr. Software IT Specialist:
The HMC (or IVM) or no HMC will mandate how to resolve this. If no HMC or IVM (non-partitioned) then all they need is the appropriate PTF (V5R4M5 or V6R1) and will have to IPL the system after the PTF is installed.

This Techdoc provides the details:

If they have an HMC, then depending on if they are partitioned with two or more IBM i and they are using a single shared processor pool, they would need to create a new shared pool with a max of 1 processor and assign the IBM i partitions to that pool. If they only have a single IBM i partition, they can either: assign 1 processor as 'dedicated', or set the partition to capped and make sure their 'desired' and maximum virtual processor setting is '1'.
