Dynamic logical partitioning (dLPAR) and inter-partition communications are provided as standard features of the models 520, 550, and 570. The 570 also offers capacity upgrade on demand (CoD) for both processors and memory.

The Advanced POWER Virtualization feature adds the ability to do micro-partitioning, virtual storage and virtual ethernet, and cross partition workload management.
