FAQ: When running AIX 5.2 on a System p model 570, can internal disks support multiple partitions?

Answer to this FAQ:

Yes. Each model 570 building block has two integrated controllers, each supporting three of the six internal disk bays, in a non-RAID environment. Therefore, using only internal disk, a single model 570 building block can support a maximum of two partitions. Please note that when using the 5709 RAID Enablement feature code, all six disk bays are driven via one controller, therefore boot disk for only one partition can be supported.
