Abstract: PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX supports the IBM zEnterprise BladeCenter Extension (zBX) (M/T 2458-002)

PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX supports the IBM zEnterprise BladeCenter Extension (zBX) (M/T 2458-002) May 20, 2011 IBM PowerHA* (formerly HACMP*) for AIX, V6.1 and V7.1 adds support for the IBM zEnterprise BladeCenter Extension (2458-002) attached to the IBM zEnterprise 196 (2817). This support is with IBM BladeCenter* PS701 (8406-71Y) Blades. It is recommended to obtain the latest service updates for this support. Please refer to the following information for minimum support levels. When setting up disk volumes used for Power HA, care must be taken to define zBX Virtual Server bootable disks such that they are discovered prior to the shared disks used for Power HA resource groups. In most cases this is achieved by defining the bootable disks with LUN IDs lower than the LUN IDs of the shared disks. POWER HA DLPAR control is not supported. PowerHA is not supported managing IPAT on IPv6 network interfaces/addresses used for zManager PPM control (i.e. "red" network). This network must be unused and left for zManager sole use. Please refer to the zManager PPM Administration Guide. PowerHA is intended for failover within an ensemble and not for business continuity across ensembles Service can be obtained from the IBM Electronic Fix Distribution site.
