Abstract: HACMP support is updated for IBM System Storage SVC Storage Software V3.1 and Metro Mirror

HACMP support is updated for IBM System Storage SVC Storage Software V3.1 and Metro Mirror August 21, 2006 IBM High Availability Cluster Multiprocessing (HACMP*) for AIX 5L*, Version 5.2, V5.3, and V5.4 updates support for the IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller (SVC) Storage Software V3.1. This SVC software enhancement supports more diverse storage environments including the Copy Services function. HACMP also updates support for the IBM System Storage Metro Mirror function for SVC which improves disaster recovery and business continuance capabilities by applying and managing copy services across disparate disk storage devices within the SAN. Although SVC Host Name Aliases are arbitrary, for HACMP's support of Metro Mirror, they must match the node names used in the defined HACMP sites. Resource Groups to be managed by HACMP cannot contain volume groups with both Metro Mirror-protected and non-Metro Mirror-protected disks. HACMP functions for resource group movement due to Selective Failover by the user is not yet supported across sites. HACMP does not support Global Mirror functions of SVC Copy Services.
