Abstract: New set of PTFs provide enhanced troubleshooting for Infoprint Server for iSeries e-distribution operations.

A new set of PTFs (V5R2 and later) provides enhanced ability to troubleshoot Infoprint Server for iSeries (5722-IP1) distribution functions. Infoprint Server enables iSeries spooled files to be routed to email, to the integrated file system, or to other output queues. The transformation to e-delivery format (Adobe PDF) is built-in. In addition, using segmentation support, spooled files can be logically segmented and the queue/IFS/email operations can be performed on individual segments. These capabilities allow for a flexible and sophisticated distribution of documents and reports. The distribution instructions are provided by printer file parameters, a user mapping program, or an IBM mapping program (built on user-defined PDF mapping objects). These PTFs provides the ability to create a trace spooled file containing the data (spooled file identifiers, email fields, IFS naming, etc.) being processed. The trace spooled file (PSFTRACE) is created automatically when errors occur on Infoprint Server operations. You can also manually request that the trace spooled file be created. It will be created regardless of whether errors occur in processing. In addition, a series of reason codes have been added to error message PQT4140. PQT4140 is the general message issued when errors occur on Infoprint Server operations. The reason codes provide better information as to why the operations failed.
