Abstract: Provided below are spreadsheets, data collection requirements, and a 90 day trending evaluation guide to assist in the evaluation of the TS7700 performance. Spreadsheets for a 90 day, one week, and a 24 hour evaluation are provided.

One 90 day evaluation spreadsheet can be used for 1 through 8 clusters grid. An accompanying data collection guide is included. The first worksheet in the spreadsheet has instructions for populating the data into the spreadsheet. Also included is a guide to help with the interpretation of the 90 day trends.

One 90 day evaluation spreadsheet can be used for 1 through 8 clusters grid. An accompanying data collection guide is included. 1 week spreadsheet can be used for 1 through 8 clusters grid. The spreadsheet uses the one hour interval data to produce charts for the one week period. There is also a data collection guide.

24 hour spreadsheet for 1 through 8 clusters grid. The spreadsheet uses the 15 minute interval data to produce charts for the 24 hour period. There is also a data collection guide.

These spreadsheets are intended for experienced TS7700 users. A detailed knowledge of the TS7700 is expected as well as familiarity with using spreadsheets.

  • Add Disk Utilization columns and charts

  • Added Performance Increment Limit on Settings tab and "Uncompressed Host IO vs Performance Increments Limit" charts.

Adjust Remote Read and Write calculation since CLx_RmtRdMiB and CLx_RmtWrMiB changed to CLx_RmtRdMiB/s and CLx_RmtWrMiB/s

Fixed October 29, 2013 - Fixed "Host IO Throughput Delay due to Performance Increment Limits" 1-4 cluster, 7 day charts to show the data from the correct clusters instead of all showing cluster 0's data.

Updated April 27, 2015: Host Attempt Throughput charts have been added to the "up to 6 cluster" spreadsheets

Updated September 3, 2015: additional Replication Performance charts have been added to the "up to 6 cluster" spreadsheets

Updated March 21, 2017: Added charts for additional grid activities, and for ahead & behind counts.
Updated June 30, 2017: added support for 1 through 8 clusters grid. ORDER8CL is introduced with this update and will be maintained going forward; there is no plan to update ORDERV12 and ORDER6CL.

Updated August 28, 2017: corrected formula errors in One Day and One Week worksheets.
Updated October 15, 2018: added charts by cache partition and compression rate by compression type.


Updated June 8, 2020: added TS7700T Tape Attached host write throttling and host I/O throttling to One Day and One Week worksheets, and added compression trend to 90 Days worksheet.
