The benefits of using RFID technology to track IT assets are considerable. However, the potential exists for the disruption of sensitive electronic circuitry through exposure to radio frequency (RF) radiation. Given this, companies are concerned about the impact of RFID on IT equipment in their data center. Through evidence collected from industry standards and IBM testing, this paper details how RFID poses minimal risk in a properly designed data center environment.
