The benefits
Accommodate changing dynamics
Leaders in higher education leverage their ERP systems to extend their institution’s impact on learning, teaching, knowledge creation and the world.

IBM ERP solutions for higher education can help you realize strategic educational objectives and overcome escalating concerns in critical areas.
  • Deliver campus-customized online learning opportunities by integrating wireless technology into your existing infrastructure.
  • Improve instruction and online teaching by integrating voice data with converged networks.
  • Enable efficient planning and deployment of on- and off-campus services for students and faculty to develop a closer relationship with campus customers.
  • Streamline administrative systems and ERP initiatives to help increase efficiency and reduce costs.

We offer three approaches to ERP implementation, depending on the timeframe, allotted resources and scale of what you want accomplished.
  • Accelerated—a high impact, quick value implementation that allows you to get your systems up and live in a short amount of time.
  • Incremental—a self-service method that releases a little functionality at a time, allowing your organization to adapt more easily. Each 3-6 month rollout brings new self-service functionality that further reduces manual processes.
  • Traditional—a restructuring of your entire back-office infrastructure.

The approach
IBM relieves over-burdened university
A well-known university in the Southwestern U.S. turned to IBM for an ERP solution.

The university wanted to replace its old administrative operations system and add a Web-based interface. Their new ERP system would have to handle student administration, advancement, finance and payroll. The system would have to be more accurate and timely, to be able to respond quickly with offers of financial aid or scholarships to qualified students who might not attend the school otherwise.

After selecting the software they needed, IBM was brought in to install and configure the new system. The redesigned architecture is expected to eliminate many of their old systems' cumbersome processes, improving accuracy and speed—making it easier to respond more quickly to student and user requests.

The financial advantage
Overcoming burdens of cost and time
IBM ERP solutions for higher education are designed to help your institution with multiple aspects of its day-to-day operations. We can help you:
