Replicate information in your heterogeneous data stores
IBM® InfoSphere® Change Data Capture replicates your heterogeneous data in near real time to support data migrations, application consolidation, data synchronization, dynamic warehousing, master data management (MDM), business analytics and data quality processes. This low-latency software is now part of IBM InfoSphere Data Replication. It supports enterprise data volumes while maintaining transactional integrity and consistency.
InfoSphere Change Data Capture provides:
- Low impact data capture—captures changed data directly from database logs rather than querying the database.
- Flexible, simplified data delivery—to provide high throughput of information throughout the enterprise.
- Integration with IBM and other systems—to enhance existing platforms and support broader information management processes.
Low impact data capture
- Log-based technology replicates mission-critical data events in near real time without impacting system performance.
- Captures only changed data and transfers it from publisher to subscriber systems.
- Dynamically routes data, based on content, to various message queues for consumption by one or more applications.
- Requires no data staging or gateway technologies.
- Delivers sensitive data in a security-rich environment and makes it accessible to authorized recipients only.
Flexible, simplified data delivery
- Offers a GUI to help enable faster deployment of data integration processes.
- Provides monitoring capabilities to accelerate troubleshooting.
- Enables unidirectional, bidirectional, many-to-one and one-to-many delivery of data.
- Uses live audit capability to provide a history of changes made to source tables.
Integration with IBM and other systems
- Integrates with IBM InfoSphere DataStage® to provide data feeds to extract, transform and load (ETL) processes with transactional integrity. Enables faster validity checks of changed data against defined data rules.
- Integrates metadata into IBM InfoSphere Metadata Workbench, enabling functions such as impact analysis and data lineage to extend to the rest of the information management infrastructure.
- Packages data transactions into XML documents and delivers to messaging middleware such as IBM WebSphere® MQ, supporting service-oriented architectures (SOAs).
- Now part of IBM InfoSphere Data Replication for DB2 for z/OS®, it integrates with IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture for z/OS and IBM InfoSphere Replication Server to provide broad database and operating system support for both distributed and IBM System z® environments.
- Supports IBM DB2®, IBM i, IBM Informix®, Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM IMS™ and Teradata databases.
