*Accelerated mathematical libraries for the IBM AIX platform*

IBM® Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem for AIX is a collection of mathematical function libraries optimized for the IBM AIX® platform. The Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem software libraries offer improved performance over the standard mathematical library routines, are thread-safe, and support compilations in C, C++ and Fortran applications. The fully supported Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem libraries are shipped with the XL C, XL C/C++ and XL Fortran compiler products. Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem for AIX software libraries:

- Include accelerated sets of frequently-used mathematical functions for scalar, vector and single-instruction, multiple-data (SIMD) libraries.
- Allow code to run in multithreaded environments in a thread-safe manner.
- Support both 32-bit and 64-bit compilations.
- Provide tuning for optimum performance on specific IBM POWER® architectures.
- Assist with portability of vector code to allow application development on non-IBM systems where the Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem libraries are not available.
