IBM® ILOG® CPLEX® Optimization Studio is an analytical decision support toolkit for rapid development and deployment of optimization models using mathematical and constraint programming. It combines an integrated development environment (IDE) with the powerful Optimization Programming Language (OPL) and high-performance ILOG CPLEX optimizer solvers.

Create mathematical programming and constraint programming optimization models, selecting from a variety of approaches.

Model
  • Modeling with Optimization Programming Language (OPL) allows users to write models in a natural, descriptive algebraic language. This enables users to take advantage of model and data separation and link to databases and predictive analytics tools as data sources.
  • Write models using the CPLEX Optimization Studio interfaces and connectors.

Validate and tune

Once the initial model is written, use model development services.

  • Use the integrated development environment (IDE) to edit OPL models; solve problems; display results; and organize models, data and settings into configurations.
  • Use the profiler in the IDE to trace execution and track memory and time used in modeling and solving.
  • Display results in tabular or graphical form in the IDE to engage business users in the model development process.
  • Diagnose and fix infeasible models.
  • Tune the parameter settings to identify those that provide optimal performance.
  • Load input data from Microsoft ®Excel®, databases or predictive analytics streams from IBM SPSS® Modeler
