IBM® Rational® Lifecycle Integration Adapters extend the Rational application lifecycle management (ALM) solution with integrations to a number of third-party tools. These adapters address many lifecycle tool integration issues relevant to customers. You gain greater value when practicing ALM in a diverse lifecycle tools environment.

Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapters are:

Heterogeneous so you can continue using your existing lifecycle tools and still benefit from the Rational ALM solution, which includes IBM Rational Team Concert™, IBM Rational Requirements Composer, IBM Rational Quality Manager and IBM Rational ClearQuest®.
Based on open standards including the Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) linked data specifications. This standard allows a variety of commercial and open source lifecycle tools to coexist and interoperate.
Scalable to address many problems associated with conventional point-to-point integrations, supporting a wide range of new and existing use cases and practitioner workflow models.

Heterogeneous

Connects select Rational ALM products to a number of third-party tools including HP ALM, HP Quality Center, Atlassian JIRA, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, open source Git, and open source Bugzilla.
Allows customers to practice ALM in a heterogeneous lifecycle tools environment.
Supports enterprises committed to using one or more third-party tools and are not willing to replace those tools immediately.
Allows you to adapt your environment to Rational ALM products.
Allows customers to use their ALM dashboard to gather simple metrics (such as test requirement coverage and mean time to resolve defects) while working with heterogeneous ALM tools environments.

Based on open standards

Supports OSLC, which provides a set of interfaces organized into a number of functional areas (domains) that allow lifecycle tools stemming from many sources to link and trace data being managed by those tools.
Allows you to start using one set of tools with their associated interactions and change tools as your needs evolve.
Allows you to adopt an integration technology that is based on open standards to avoid being committed to a proprietary vendor for the long-term.
Augments OSLC with integration methods from Tasktop Technologies to support additional customer use cases.

Allows you to start with a relatively narrow scope of lifecycle coverage and add more disciplines at a later date.
Scales to let you incrementally build on what you started and avoid significant rework.
