IBM® Rational® Software Architect Simulation Toolkit lets you test and validate your architecture to help ensure high-quality applications are developed. This toolkit extends Rational Software Architect to simulate and validate architectures and their behaviors before they are implemented.

Rational Software Architect Simulation Toolkit provides:

  • UML support—including execution of Unified Modeling Language (UML) 2 Activity models, UML Interaction models, UML State Machines and opaque behaviors expressed as UML Action Language (UAL).
  • Visualization—by exposing runtime information with visual animation of behavior diagrams during execution.
  • Debugging—including model-level debugging with detailed control of execution such as stepping, breakpoints, suspend, resume, terminate and restart; injecting events; and runtime prompting.
  • Topology tracing—when used with the IBM Rational Software Architect Extension for Deployment Planning. It shows how messages exchanged between participants in UML behaviors will flow across infrastructure nodes when the behavior participants are mapped to the infrastructure using a deployment topology model.
