IBM® Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem for Linux® is a collection of mathematical function libraries optimized for the Linux platform. The Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem software libraries offer improved performance over the standard mathematical library routines, are thread-safe, and support compilations in C, C++ and Fortran applications. The fully supported Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem libraries are shipped with XL C, XL C/C++ and XL Fortran compiler products.

Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem for Linux software libraries:

Include accelerated sets of frequently-used mathematical functions for scalar and vector libraries.
Allow code to run in multithreaded environments in a thread-safe manner.
Support both 32-bit and 64-bit compilations.
Provide tuning for optimum performance on specific IBM POWER® architectures.
Assist with portability of vector code to allow application development on non-IBM systems where the Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem libraries are not available.
