This software allows you to track offsite storage. It supports full and differential file-system image backups and full and file-level restores.
Disaster recovery—performs automated, scheduled asynchronous replication of the client backup data and descriptive metadata to an offsite IBM Tivoli Storage Manager server for “hot standby” disaster recovery. The software automatically generates and dynamically updates a step-by-step disaster recovery plan (including automated scripts) based on the current configuration of the IT infrastructure.
Flexibility—provides data protection and disaster recovery functionality for more than 500 different disk, tape and virtual tape storage devices from more than a dozen vendors. There are no limitations on the number of drives or slots.
Scalability and reliability—enables management of up to four billion data objects on single server architecture because it is built on an IBM DB2® database. No media servers are needed as your environment grows.
