It supports thousands of Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connections or Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) networks. IBM WebSphere Voice Response for AIX is based on industry and open standards, and employs Java Beans technology to help you develop speech recognition and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications.

- Supports industry-standard Call Control XML (CCXML) for deploying self-service telephony applications call handling.
- Complies with Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) specifications for connecting with speech recognition and text-to-speech products.
