*Libraries of mathematical functions optimized for IBM Blue Gene*

IBM® Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem for Blue Gene is a collection of mathematical function software libraries that offer improved performance over the standard mathematical library routines, are thread-safe, and support compilations in C, C++ and Fortran applications. The fully supported Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem libraries are shipped with the XL C, XL C/C++ and XL Fortran compiler products.

Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem for Blue Gene software libraries:

- Include accelerated sets of frequently-used mathematical functions for scalar and vector libraries.
- Allow code to run in multithreaded environments in a thread-safe manner.
- Support 32-bit compilations in C, C++ and Fortran applications.
- Provide tuning for optimum performance on IBM Blue Gene® processors.
- Assists portability of vector code to allow application development on non-IBM systems where the Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem libraries are not available.
