IBM® Management Console for IMS and DB2 for z/OS consolidates information from IBM IMS and IBM DB2 for z/OS systems in a single interface that is accessible from a standard web browser.
Management Console simplifies the presentation of system health data across the enterprise—including autonomic symptoms, exceptions, and recommended actions. Management Console for IMS and DB2 for z/OS provides the following features and benefits.
You can access IBM® Management Console for IMS and DB2 for z/OS by installing the application server on Windows or z/OS. Once you install the server, point your browser on your client machine to it using HTTP or HTTPS.
You only need to install Management Console once; it can accessed from multiple client machines. There is no need to download code directly to any client machine. As well, any refresh or upgrade of Management Console is done once and can then be made available to all clients who need access.
You also will need to install IBM Tools Base for z/OS to take advantage of the expert IMS or DB2 Tools in IBM Solution Packs.
IBM IMS and DB2 Tools provide autonomics to help users adapt to unpredictable changes while hiding complexity. The primary benefit is to optimize manual tasks and eliminate growing levels of complexity.
In IMS, Tools Base Autonomics Director automates recurring database monitoring and maintenance tasks, including automatic and on-demand scheduling of database sensor data collection and evaluation.
For DB2, Autonomics Director for DB2 for z/OS provides a framework for automating DB2 utilities. DB2 real time statistics (RTS) snapshot job profiles can be created and scheduled through the DB2 administrative task scheduler to regularly collect RTS.
The IMS and DB2 versions of Autonomics Director provide capabilities that drive functionality in IBM® Management Console for IMS™ and DB2® for z/OS®. The goal is to improve availability and simplify the management of complex DB2 and IMS environments.

How to order
You can order the IBM® Management Console for IMS™ and DB2® for z/OS® through Shopz. Shopz is the online solution for ordering and delivery of System z software. Note that first-time (hyphenate) orders will take longer to process than updates or new versions of Management Console.
Management Console is a no-charge product. However, you still have to enter your IBM customer entitlement information to process the order. If you want to use Management Console with IMS or DB2 Tools, you also need to order IBM Tools Base for z/OS. (For DB2 Tools, you must have Tools Base version 1.5.)
