Interactive encyclopedia including culture-specific information about names, usage, meanings, and patterns
The IBM Global Name Reference Encyclopedia includes culture-specific information about names, their use, their meanings, and their patterns of spelling variations. It is a standalone offering that leverages a vast store of cultural and linguistic knowledge and was developed using detailed studies of nearly a billion names from every country in the world.
With this release, new cultural information is provided on Indian and Vietnamese names. In addition, there is a new STC-character lookup capability for Chinese which allows you to access character variants and dialects for Chinese by specifying just the STC (Standard Telegraphic Code) character.
