The IBM® OMEGAMON® family of products provide comprehensive real-time and historical performance management capabilities for your z/OS® operating system and key middleware subsystems across the enterprise. OMEGAMON offerings integrate resource and availability management of Db2® on z/OS, CICS® Transaction Server, CICS Transaction Gateway, IMS™, MQ on z/OS, Integration Bus on z/OS, and Java® runtimes, as well as the underlying z/OS operating system, networks and storage usage.

Each of the products within the OMEGAMON family are focused on bringing the following benefits:

  • Closer integration for faster problem solving by integrating and embedding data from multiple source with single user interface
  • Monitoring by “exception”, allowing users to be alerted to problems quickly after they happen
  • Investigation of a problem’s root cause through capture of near-term historical data
  • Cost reduction by increased offloading of key function to specialty zIIP processors
  • Simplified architecture, reducing the number of address spaces needed to monitor the client’s enterprise
  • Faster install, configuration, and maintenance including specific support for first time user deployment of OMEGAMON Integration with other IBM tools such as System Automation and Operational Analytics

The OMEGAMON products are available either as individual offerings or as part of several suites, including IBM Service Management Suite for z/OS that integrates OMEGAMON with System Automation and Asset Discovery for a complete Z systems management solution.
