Virtual appliance to integrate cloud and on-premise applications

Hybrid Cloud Integration and
Monitoring with WebSphere Cast Iron

IBM® WebSphere® Cast Iron® Hypervisor Edition is a virtual appliance that can be installed on your existing servers through virtualization technology. Virtual appliances improve the utilization of hardware and enable faster response to demands for newly deployed systems—helping reduce the costs of both hardware and software operation and maintenance. Deploying virtual images can reduce errors and enable the rapid deployment of systems for development, test and production.

WebSphere Cast Iron Hypervisor Edition is available in:

Standard Edition—Includes data synchronization and data migration scenarios and access to hundreds of reusable Template Integration Projects (TIP).

Enterprise Edition—Includes everything in the Standard Edition, plus data quality features, the ability to develop reusable templates and the ability manage and monitor integration remotely. The Enterprise Edition also provides connectivity to enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications.

Application endpoints—Adds the ability to integrate additional applications and choose from hundreds of cloud and on-premise applications.

The Siebel connector, shipped as part of WebSphere Cast Iron V6.0, was built on non-IBM developed libraries. WebSphere Cast Iron V6.1 included an IBM-developed equivalent for these libraries. At that time, the non-IBM variants were deprecated but continued to be shipped to enable migration. Starting with WebSphere Cast Iron V7.0, only the IBM-developed libraries are included with WebSphere Cast Iron .Therefore, any applications still using the WebSphere Cast Iron V6.0 version of the connector must be migrated to the new version, as detailed in the technote:
www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21515704

The original Siebel connector is supported until WebSphere Cast Iron V6.1, V6.3, and V6.4 are withdrawn from support.
