IBM® Lotus® Protector for Mail Security scans email messages and attached files for unwanted, confidential or malicious content, extending content protection and compliance for your social business platform. It controls the email content that enters and leaves your company’s network to ensure a high level of security and blocks spam and viruses. This software also provides integrated email content filtering for IBM Notes®, IBM Domino®, Microsoft Exchange and mixed email environments.

1 Lotus Protector includes a Linux operating system and runs as installed software in a VMware partition. VMware partitions the physical machine into multiple virtual machines.

MS3004LP Appliance
The MS3004LP Appliance from IBM ISS is no longer sold. However, Lotus Protector for Mail Security 2.8 supports the MS3004LP appliance. Upgrade your MS3004LP to Lotus Protector for Mail Security 2.8 to gain all the enhancements and up to 500% performance improvement (your results may vary).
