IBM® ILOG® JViews Enterprise provides enterprise software developers with advanced graphical displays for building custom user interfaces. Developers can add a variety of rich, interactive Java visualization displays including diagrams, dashboards, maps, charts and schedules to desktop and JSF or Dojo Web user interfaces. These graphical displays help to reduce development time and risk to the project schedule.

IBM ILOG JViews Enterprise provides a broad range of commonly-used advanced display types:

  • Diagrams — objects and their interconnections are depicted in flowcharts, organization charts, network topologies and process modelers.
  • Dashboards — unified collections of individual display objects (charts, gauges, and maps) graphically convey current business metrics to the user; support both business and process control dashboards (physical equipment status).
  • Maps — physical location of assets, which are often tied to underlying system data, could change position or shape to reflect current status.
  • Charts — classic displays depict a series of data points that can be used to show both historical data, as well as real-time values.
  • Schedules — specialized chart displays show how business resources are allocated over time.

New and improved display options

IBM® ILOG® JViews Enterprise 8.8 takes advantage of the improved performance, usability, and security of Java Development Kit 7 (JDK7). This new release includes support for Dojo-based displays, an alternative to JavaServer Faces (JSF) web capabilities. Developers now have the option to create JViews Enterprise-based diagram displays to Dojo-compliant mobile devices.

JViews Enterprise 8.8 provides developers with tools to build displays for applications requiring diagrams, including org charts, diagram editors and process diagrams:

  • New diagram Dojo functionality for creating displays with client-side rendering and logic and greater reactivity.
  • A set of graph layout capabilities, enabling diagram displays to be automatically rearranged for maximum readability.
  • New animation and customization features.
  • Better diagramming support features for process flow (e.g., business process management) displays.
  • Simplified, improved user interactions (object selection, resize, moving, tooltips, etc.).
