Installing plug-ins in Lotus Symphony 3 is quick and simple:
- Launch Lotus Symphony.
- Click File > Preferences and click Widgets.
- Select “Show Widget Toolbar and the My Widgets Sidebar panel”.
- Click OK.
- Open the My Widgets sidebar in the right panel.
- Launch a web browser to open the Plug-ins page on the Lotus Symphony website :
http://www.ibm.com/software/lotus/symphony/plugin.nsf/home.
- For most of the plug-ins, there is a drag-to-install icon and a URL link. Drag the icon or the link on the My Widgets sidebar panel. If this icon is not available, follow the installation instructions in the next section.
- The License agreement window opens .Select to accept the license agreement and click Finish.
- After the installation is finished, restart Lotus Symphony.
For those plug-ins that are available for the Lotus Symphony 3, you also can download the plug-in to your local hard drive, and drag the zip file to the My Widgets sidebar panel directly to install the plug-in.
In addition, you can use the installation method available in previous releases, detailed below:
Installing Plug-ins Lotus Symphony 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1 and 1.3 :
- Launch Lotus Symphony.
- Click File > Application > Install. The Install/Update wizard is displayed.
- Select Search for new features to install , and click Next.
- In the Application Locations window, click Add Zip/Jar Location.
- Select the update site file which is (a compressed file, that contains features, plug-in folders, and a site.xml file), then click Finish.
- In the Search Results window, select the feature, and click Next.
- In the Feature License window, select to accept and click Next.
- Click Finish to start the installation.
- After the installation is finished, exit and restart Lotus Symphony.
