Is there a feature similar to the Format Painter in Microsoft Word?
The equivalent option in Lotus Symphony is called Duplicate Formatting. First, select the text that you want to copy the style from, then click the Duplicate Formatting icon or select Edit > Duplicate Formatting. You see the cursor change to the Duplicate Formatting painter. Now, move the cursor to the paragraph where you would like to duplicate the format, click and drag over it, the formatting is changed. You can also double-click the icon on the toolbar to use duplicate formatting continuously until you press the Esc key.

Create a page style and apply it to your document.
- Click Layout > Style List.

- Apply this new style to your document:
- Create a page by clicking Create > Break.

Why are the input fields displayed when opening a Microsoft Word document in Lotus Symphony?
Input fields are displayed due to the field shading configuration. By default, the field shading is turned on. When the input fields are empty, the fields are not displayed. To toggle the field shading on and off, use View > Field Shading or press Ctrl+Shift+X.

Can I share data between a document and a spreadsheet?
You can share data in a Lotus Symphony document from an existing Lotus Symphony spreadsheet file. You can copy an area of content from the spreadsheet and then paste the copied content using Edit > Paste Special, selecting it as a DDE Link item into the document. Any changes in the spreadsheet are refreshed in the document synchronously. If you close the spreadsheet document, then reopen and refresh the data in it, the data in the Lotus Symphony document contains the updated spreadsheet data.
If the area of content in the spreadsheet contains hidden rows or hidden columns, those hidden rows and columns are copied and displayed in the document.

Why is there a file recovery option?
By default, file recovery is enabled, and a temporary file is automatically saved for all open files so that you can recover these files if the system quits unexpectedly. You can customize how long you want this recovery to happen:
- Click File > Preferences.
- Under the option Load and Save > File Recovery, change Enable file recovery to save open files every [X] minutes.

How do I track changes in documents?
You can track document revisions by clicking Edit > Revisions > Record. By default, the mark shows in the left margin, indicating that the line had been changed.
It is possible to select the color and style to identify each type of recorded change.
