Especially the point 6 helped! The problem was, that I was zipping the whole "update site" project before and was getting the error above. Now that I just selected the feature, plugins folders + the .xml files and zipped it worked.

in Embed Symphony it worked fine via Application/ install, but the drag & drop to widget panel did not work for me in standalone. However, when I used Getting stared with Widgets / Features and Plug-ins / loaded the zip file - Worked!!

Hi Ivan,

Please make sure you can see the hello world plugin from the eclipse (Run configurations).
After that, following these steps:
1.Create a feature project which will include the simple plugin.
2.Create a update site project which will include the created feature
3.Click the build all button in update site project
4.You will see two folders(features and plugins) be created in the folder of update site project.
5.Create your extension.xml make sure the feature name and id match your created feature
6.Zip features folder, plugins folder,site.xml, extension.xml to a zip file
7.Drag the zip file to the widgets panel.
You will start install the simple plugin.

Please try again and tell us your result, and if you still unable deploy the plugin, please send your zip file to us, we will help you to see which step you don"t do it correctly.

Hi team,

I"m trying deploy a simple Symphony plugin created in Eclipse 3.4.2. I"ve followed all the steps from guides how to set up the programs ( SDK 3, Lotus Expeditors toolkit 6.2.1)

I was trying to create a simple plug in from your guides (hello world). I"ve managed to open & run the symphony from the Eclipse (Run configurations), but when I tried to deploy the plugin into Symphony it did not work. When dragging the zip file into the widget panel, I get this message: An internal error occured during:"Drop Widget Job". java.lang.NullPointerException.
When I try to go via Application/ Install I get the" Archive does not contain an update site. Please select another archive.

I"ve followed all the steps in the guides and I also included the extension.xml on the correct place. Can you please tell me, what could be the cause of this problem? Or how can I resolve this problem.
