Symphony 1.2 lacks support for trackpoint

which is a signiture feature of Thinkpads

Profile image for Max When I first started Symphony it was to my delight that it is based on Eclipse. I used to do a lot of development with Eclipse. It feels good when you see something you are very familiar with to show up in your daily life again unexpected. But, when I created a new document and found that Symphony is lacking trackpoint scrolling support, I was very disappointed. Trackpoint is a signiture feature of Thinkpads, and Thinkpad the brand is always a glory for IBM. Symphony is an IBM product. I don't see any reason why these two are not made symphonious. I'm not sure whether Eclipse platform supports extended pointer commands/events like those of the trackpoint. But as a former Java developer I'm sure there must be a way to implement it, given even Eclipse is a lot IBM. So get those two or three in symphony!

I'm not finding anywhere I can report this "problem" or suggest this enhancement. So I decided to "tell you my story". I just need to speak this out.

    Hi Max,

IBM invented Thinkpad and sold it to Lenovo at 2004, Thinkpad is now product of Lenovo.

Have you searched the forum before posting here? Please check if the workaround works for you?

Another troubled story which doesn't appear on the website (got it through Google Reader).

And it looks like Supportadmin5 is making fun of the user Max, since there is NO workaround at the given link, only a report for the same problem.
